Gary Schwitzer is the founder of the web site HealthNewsReview.org, and vocal supporter of accurate and science-based news reporting on health topics, will present a lively discussion on the accuracy of health news reporting.
Claus Pierach, MD, renowned scholar on porphyria, internist for many years at Abbott Northwestern and liaison to the medical education collaboration with the University of Minnesota, will present a talk on the importance of Sir William Osler.
Osler was a Canadian-born physician and founding professor of Johns Hopkins Hospital who created the first residency program for physician training. He is also remembered for the humanism he brought to the field of medicine and is considered the father of modern medicine.
