Health Sciences Libraries of Minnesota Annual Meeting

We are pleased to announce that Dorothea Salo will present a workshop on Copyright Issues for Health Sciences Librarians at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN on Friday, June 5, 2009. This event is co-sponsored by Health Sciences Libraries of Minnesota (HSLM) and Metropolitan State University’s Library and Information Services.

Dorothea Salo is the Digital Repository Librarian for the University of Wisconsin system’s digital repository MINDS@UW ( She serves on the UW-Madison’s General Library System Scholarly Communication and Publishing committee. She has written and presented internationally on institutional repositories, social software, scholarly publishing, and user-centered design. She holds an MA in Library and Information Studies and another in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. In 2009, Ms. Salo was named a Mover and Shaker by Library Journal.

Registration for this event will begin on May 1, 2009 and will be limited to eighty participants. The registration form will be posted on the HSLM blog.
The workshop will take place during the morning of Friday, June 5. HSLM will hold its Annual Meeting during the afternoon. Beverages, a light continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
We offer this event free of charge to all current HSLM members. Non-HSLM members may attend for $30.00. To join HSLM, please fill out the form found here and mail it with a check to the HSLM treasurer, per the instructions provided.
